| | | Pine Marten We put some bread and jam out on the bird table a couple of nights ago. This morning the bread was still there but no jam. Don't know if it was responsible for taking the jam, but 10 mins ago it appeared and ate at least some of the bread.
Sorry for the poor photos. Through double glazing that should be cleaner, its is a grey, windy day so the ISO was 1600 and its pouring.
Good to know at least one is about. I don't know when they develop the adult coat but this one looked a bit smaller than one we saw last year.

| | | Re: Pine Marten Not bad shots at all, lucky you!
You don't say where abouts this is but from your location I assume it's scotland somewhere.
This is one animal i'll make a special attempt to see when I get my lazy self up to Scotland.

| | | Re: Pine Marten Although they are fairly common in the area (Gairloch) we have seen only four in about 6 years. Looks like it may have been back to the bird table over night so we are hoping for another visit today.
Wildcat Stores is both doing well and no more, Richard. The store is still there but it has been taken over by McColls, but everyone still calls it Wildcat and the creature, though it has faded a bit over the years, is still in the glass case on the shelf behind the till.

I heard they like cheese too. Anyway I hope you can tempt it into giving you loads more sightings.

| | | Re: Pine Marten Its cheepo, cheepo, raspberry. Must try some cheese too. It could help to keep it in one place for longer. Though it stay for a while yesterday and did not seem bothered by me being on the other side of a window about 10 feet away.
