| | | what left these teethmarks please ? Morning
I found two boletus last night - one of which was huge and untouched. Immediately next to it was one which has clearly been providing a meal for a rodent.
I know it's possible to determine which animal makes the holes in walnuts etc, so I wondered if anyone could tell me what made these marks - mouse / dormouse / other ? |

| | | Re: what left these teethmarks please ? We're swamped with mice all over the place. This was found beside a woodland track though - and I thought it would have been a mouse, just wondered if it were possible to eliminate anything else (dormouse, squirrel - not that I know if squirrels eat this sort of thing, rat etc).
Where we are, it could be just about anything !! |

| | | Re: what left these teethmarks please ? A nice image of rodent insicor work! It looks like mouse to me, I've never seen dormouse marks on a fungi so am not able to comment about them. Squirrels eat them but from the scale, the teeth marks may be too small. |
