So Red Squirrel campaigner Norris Atthey has now been arrested! Quote: "Norris Atthey, 66, challenged the organisation to prosecute him for his actions and was arrested by police at his home in Ulgham, near Morpeth, after he refused to take part in a voluntary interview with an inspector.
Mr Atthey was incensed after reading of the RSPCA’s prosecution of Raymond Elliott in Burton last month for drowning a grey squirrel in a water butt.
He said he had acted to challenge the charity, arguing that he could show the killing was humane." | Red Squirrel campaigner Norris Atthey has been arrested!
Is anyone surprised that he has now been arrested?

No, I'm not at all surprised!
I still cannot see his reasoning behind his actions. IMO he has done no good for his cause and he has caused unnecessary suffering. Just an ego trip for himself methinks.

Seems to me the cops should grow up and arrest some real criminals for a change, the police force in the country is now a sad joke.

At least it sends the message that 'wildlife crimes' are taken seriously, regardless of the species involved.
