Where have my hedgehogs gone?

Can anybody help, our hedgehogs have dissappeared!

We had a couple of adult hedgehogs, and then some hoglets appeared this year, we have been feeding the hedgehogs every night for a few months,and have seen them every night, all be it at different times through the evening/night time, but usually within just a few minutes of the food being left out for them, but the last 3 nights, absolutely nothing, no sightings at all, but the food is being eaten, the dish is empty every morning, any ideas what is happening?

The variety of insect and other tasty food found at this time of year may be tempting them away from the feeder, so I would suggest looking for signs. Droppings are fairly distinctive and a few tit bits placed on a tray of damp sand close to the feeding station, will show if they are still around. Other creatures, including the local moggy will clean up any food left in a dish, so an empty plate is no guarantee the hogs are still feeding at your site.
