| | | Psychic Hedgehogs....? About 30 mins ago I went outside into the back garden with a torch. There was no sign of my usual prickly visitors (often heard "snuffling" at each other if not actually seen). Their food bowl was empty so I refilled it and wandered over to the pond to check out the action there.
While counting the frogs (adults and this years' juveniles) 3 hedgehogs "appeared" in the garden!!
1 headed straight for the food bowl, the others seemed to be forming a prickly queue
Question: Are they psychic? Do they know the sound of their food bowl being filled (bit like my resident bossy Robin)? Or was this just coincidence?
Whatever the answer I'm still chuckling about it lol |

| | | Re: Psychic Hedgehogs....? Do you feed them at a set time each night?
It is most likely that they heard you or smelt you (no offense ) or the food they would have been hiding locally and when they heard/smelt your activity they will usually associate this with food so will have come out to investigate. |

| | Re: Psychic Hedgehogs....? How long have you been feeding them? If its been a long time, then maybe they recognise the sound by now, so they whens feeding time. Ohand by the way, congrats on the frogs, I have to keep getting rid of mine, they get chased by the cats! |

| | | Re: Psychic Hedgehogs....? Sorry for slow reply
Usually I fill the hedgehog bowl during the day whilst it's light (and I remember) but that night I had forgotten so was doing it later than usual. I guess it's possible they heard me or smelt the food (or smelt me? lol). At the time it both spooked and amused me and made me feel like they were spying on me
Thanks for the frog grats. My garden is full of the little blighters but they're so cute that I don't mind! Luckily my cat isn't interested in them - he spends most of his time asleep and sunbathing on his sun lounger | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
