Fortunately foxes are so widespread and generalistic that it is unlikely to have any impact on their numbers, infact killing loads of them if anything will just aid dispersal. | Hi there !
You seem like a pleasant chap or lady!!
As one of the forums ignorants, I was just wondering what constitutes my inadequate husbandry thechniques ?
Any idea?
Unsurprisingly, I think you are completely wrong. And here is why, it is legal to hunt foxes on horseback. Whether you wear a red coat or not. I do it to control the numbers of foxes and for a sporting ride. I dont do it for fun.
It is illegal to drug a fox and then beat it to death.
There are many rules, conventions and guidelines involved in fox hunting. And a lot of tradition. The tradition may be anachronistic to you but to compare it to urban louts abusing a fox, kitten, pigeon, whatever is very unserious.
I look forward to you backing up your comments on my lack of husbandry skills. |

This thread is about the sickening behaviour of a few ignorant retards, nothing else. The fox hunting thing has been done to death. It only leads to unpleasantless on both sides.

I look forward to you backing up your comments on my lack of husbandry skills. | Poor husbandry is basically where people put up inadequate housing for their livestock, usually poultry. Or when livestock is left unattended at periods of high risk. Such as early morning or late evening when it could quite easily be locked up securely. Since I dont know what husbandry skills you have you will have to enlighten me before I tell you if they are adequate or not.
Why are you controlling the numbers of a native predator whos population is governed by territory availability, habitat quality, food supply and debases as well as various other factors? You do realize that once you have "controlled" your local population others will move into the now vacant territory and now that levels of prey will have increase the fox population will boom causing you more problems than if you left an established territory.
A sporting ride thats a new one, what sport is it exactly? a sport is usually where two equal teams compete for a common goal not aload of people harrising a wild animal until its dead. You quite clearly do it for fun. |

The good news is...you will never find me being unpleasant !!
But if a conversation is worth having its worth having properly.
The individual said I was just the same as them when I am sure I find the actions of the urban fox vigilantes abhorrent. And this is an important point..being clear what real animal abuse is. And that was my point.
They are "blogging" about real animal abuse and seem to be acting out their sickness and I condemn them.
I think it is important and wholly valid to draw a distinction between the two activities.
But as always, I am nice and cuddly about it.

D.Munkery Esq | Yes but it is essentially this....
Some people will think traditional fox hunting sport is the same as this and their minds won't be changed.
Some people will think fox hunting is entirely different from this and their minds won't be changed.
The end.....

It was only what could have been expected after the likes of the bbc gave the recent 'fox attack' such presidence. |
