Did you see who "protested"? ALF and mad veggies. "Our poor little squirrels. Ickle furry darlings". My only problem might be the idea of eating vermin. Although if ALF were on the menu . . . best not go down that road . . .
The really stupid part is that they (grey squirrels!) are common, they are pests, they are edible. Hysterics over rabbits in game dealers anyone?

If grey squirrel was in the butchers here I would buy it I can get Venison,rabbit,quail,pheasant the list goes on..
If the animal had a decent life and is killed humanely and quick its better than being farmed and cooped up in a cage.
Same with signal crayfish yummy.. |

A very good idea to eat gray squirrels if they were killed humanely, and aren't there some sort of pest crabs that compete with our native ones? |

I'm not sentimental about grey squirrels, but as I'm vegetarian they're not 'kosher' for me!

I was vegetarian, but seeing as I am still growing, and I think a more varied diet would be better, I decided to go back aswell... Its also an evolutionairy thing...
Anyway, I only eat Birds and Fish... |

They are at their best for eating in the autumn - early winter. Nice casseroled or curried,but don't over cook them.
