Ok on my way to college yesterday was sat in stationary traffic in the rural village of hadlow and watched for about 5 minutes a beautiful completely white , grey squirrel albino with red eyes etc.
I presume this is fairly common but i havent seen one as yet?...sadly even though i had a camera it was in my bag in the back of the car.
I guess even if common would they be more prone to predation?
Great to see though.

I have never seen a totally albino animal in the wild, only two melanisitc rabbits (black) - though these could've been domestic escapes I suppose. Still having seen watership down (and been mentally scarred by it as a child) it made me glad I'm not called hazel!! |

Ooooh..
Well i take the same route everyday so will leave my fz30 to hand and try and get a shot if he/she re appears?
I know im in totally the wrong area/climate but for a split second my heart raced as it came hopping and bounding accross the lawn as i thought it was a stoat in winter coat? ( one of my fave mammals)...then i realised what it was

henrya | yeah but it's a case of being in the right place at the right time with any kind of stoat and clearly I have been frequenting the wrong places at utterly the wrong times......

Oh really? i had a whole afternoon in the company of a stoat trying to steal my lunch from my rucksack while i was watching marsh harriers in the isle of sheppey? maybe ill go find him again see if he is all white? (boom boom) ha ha |
