| | | Help finding bats Hi all,
Having been given a bat detector a while ago and recently having tried it out, an enthusiasm for these animals has crept up on me and caught me quite unawares!
Can anyone suggest a good habitat for bats, where I may be able to detect two or more species at once, to hone my skills and fuel my addiction?
Also, I live in North London within easy reach of Watford, Ricky, Harrow etc. So if anyone knows of a good local spot, that would be fantastic.
Cheers,
Ash

| | | Re: Help finding bats Woodland and woodland edge are usually good habitats for bats, and if there is a river running through, so much the better. Gardens are often good for bats as well, as long as they haven't been decked or pea gravelled into submission
I am sure the London Bat Group would be able to give you good advice.

Yes, I was thinking that some species like to hunt near water.
Good idea about the bat group - you know, it never even occurred to me to me that there might be a bat group near here - DOH! I'll track them down.

| | | Re: Help finding bats I was going to suggest a bat group.
Then you will be able to go to meetings or talks, bat walks and help with surveys. |
