| | | Cat eats hedgehog food A hedgehog has been visting my garden nightly for about a week who is eating the scraps under my bird feeder. I am keen to keep it coming back so I have ordered a hedgehog feeder to keep my cats from eating the food but it takes up to 14 days for delivery.
Any ideas for keeping my cats away from the food in the meantime? I have tried a cardboard box but my cat is too determind. |

you could keep the cats in at night before you put the food out. |

| | | Re: Cat eats hedgehog food Thanks, I have started getting the cats in for a while to give the hedgehog chance to eat. Hopefully the feeder will arrive soon x |

| | | Re: Cat eats hedgehog food I think it's better for both cats and wildlife if you keep cats in at night anyway. I'm an ex cat owner and we lost two of ours to cars driving fast at night. They were all rescue cats, and I remember one rescue centre turned us down as adoptees because we said we didn't want to keep the cats in after dark - this was before two got run over and we thought the centre was just being picky. Plus I think cats kept in a night kill fewer wild animals. |

| | | Re: Cat eats hedgehog food It's a stealth camera- battery operated with motion detection and Infra red lighting.
My one is bottom of what's available, so the video quality is very poor, and I got it second hand on Ebay. It's a Leaf River one. The one I would really like is a Prowler HD which is between £350 and £450 in this country!
Have you still got your GL80? Have you tried pointing it at the hedgehog bowl? |

| | | Re: Cat eats hedgehog food I've still got the camera but no hogs, unfortunately. So far all I've filmed is mice and pigeons, though if we get some dry days next week my friend says I can leave it on the banks of her stream to try and get footage of water voles. |
