| | | Re: Cat eats hedgehog food Hi Gem83, I've had more success with Chapelwood Hedgehog Food Buy Chapelwood Hedgehog Food 1.5kg from Webbs Garden Centres
- approx £5 for 1.5kg bag and I buy mine from Pets at Home, so no delivery charge
If you have a problem with cats stealing the hedgehog's food, until your new feeder arrives, you could try offering foodstuffs which cat's dislike, e.g. chopped unsalted peanuts, sunflower seeds/hearts, sultanas, digestive biccies, dried mealworms - hogs generally like whatever foodstuffs are fed to garden birds, so if the hog doesn't eat it, your garden birds will! Win-win situation |

| | | Re: Cat eats hedgehog food If your Hedgehog happily comes back each night to eat the scraps from the bird table why order special food? Top up the feeders late in the day scatter a little extra on the ground and keep the cats in after dark.

| | | Re: Cat eats hedgehog food I put out a bowl of water along with Wild Things hedgehog food, which the hog who is resident in my garden seems to like.
I have lots of cats in my area, and even though the Wild Things pack states that cats don't like it, they will still eat it given half a chance |

| | | Re: Cat eats hedgehog food To stop cats eating hoggy's food until your feeder arrives Tiggy, its simple, you just need a box with a hole just big enough for hoggy, a box with a small hole 4"x4", or even cardboard will do, cover it with a bin bag, add some bricks or something to make a tunnel into it, puss is very good at pawing out the food if she can reach it, sprinkle some chopped peanuts around the entrance and into the box, hoggy will soon find it, or if you don't want to go to the bother, just leave chopped peanuts.cheese, digestive bics, puss won't eat those. | | | Re: Cat eats hedgehog food Thanks Guys
Feeders now arrived and the hedgehog seems to like it. The food was gone this morning and I can hear him munching away in it now.
He loves the mealworms and hedgehog food but isn't fussed about the cat food. My cats are interested but I don't think they will get in though somebody was scratching around it yesterday. It is on a barked area and the bark was all over the place this morning. |

| | | Re: Cat eats hedgehog food I put cat food out for my hedgehog visitors last year and they didn't eat it.
I bought CJ Wildlife hedgehog food from Asda (but I've seen it advertised on the internet). My hedgehogs loved it.
Not seen one in the garden this year. |

| | | Re: Cat eats hedgehog food Please could everyone here put some water out for hedgehogs in both your back and front gardens.
Even if you don't have hedgehogs, then birds will appreciate it, and it may save a hedgehog's life. This year there have been alot of hedgehog deaths due to dehydration.
Please put water out all year round even in winter because if they wake from hibernation to change to a warmer nest, they need a drink.
