| | | Hedgehog food station position I have hedgehogs which I feed on the lawn near the house.
I read that nursing mum's don't travel far from their nest when she has babies.
Does anyone know how far they will go? I don't want her to miss out on food if it's too far away.
What is the closest it is safe or advisable to feed or put water bearing in mind that a fox visits the garden nightly (at about 4am).
I'm planning to make a feeding station from an underbed storage box. |

| | | Re: Hedgehog food station position I made my feeding station yesterday, and I can confirm it isn't easy to cut a storage box! I glued the ensuing crack, and put duct tape to cover the cut edges. I decided on an arched 4 inch hole.
I put it in place over where I usually feed and set up the stealth cam.
With the rain and realisation that the box will prevent the sensor being set off, I was releived to find a short clip at 5am in which I can just discerne a hedgehog.
I'll put it at an angle tonight to stop reflections, and hope for dry weather and better footage.
The storage box is fairly see though, but if anyone knows where I can get a crystal clear box, let me know. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
