| | | Re: Urban fox attacks two babies while they sleep! I agree the fox would come into the kitchen for cat food - but to climb the stairs to eat the babies ?? No I don't think so
If you are capable of identifying a Fox why would you think that the parents ate not so? I would point out that they have in no manner suggested in interviews that the media have got anything incorrect.

Where did I say the parents were not able to identify a fox ?
"Foxes have cubs not pups"
OK - Hands up - "cubs" not "pups" - (but I am sure other readers knew what I meant)
One of the reasons I don't post too much on here - a bit too nit-picking for me - rather than comment on the content of the post - picking on grammatical errors - and apologies for my lack of eloquence.
Won't be posting again in a hurry ............. |

| | | Re: Urban fox attacks two babies while they sleep! I think it was I, among others, who suggested this might have been mistaken identity for the reasons that have already been listed in this thread - confusion, distress, the fact that the incident was over very quickly, possible low light levels, previous encounters on record where the "fox" turned out to be either an alsation or a cat. There's already a precedent for members of the public mixing up foxes with other similar-size mammals. It's one possiblity, certainly. |

| | | Re: Urban fox attacks two babies while they sleep! I know it's a bit of the topic but i was walking my dog last night at around 11.30 and a fox walked across the road in front of me.
As i continued walking down the road the fox was walking parallel to me on the other side of the road. He became calling out at and running towards my dog but i everytime i made eye contact he stopped so i just carried on walking. Then as i was walking down the road further which might i add is a perfect habitat for a fox family as it was where houses were but they were knocked down about 10 years ago.
Yeah so as i was walking down the fox was following me and everytime i looked at him he stopped and when a car came he would jump for cover and nearly got hit the once. He then came out again but i then went off the road and that was it.
Now was that the fox being defensive because i have seen a vixen around there but the first time i have seen the male fox. |

| | | Re: Urban fox attacks two babies while they sleep! ... to me, it was the fox being concerned by your dog as he may have a offspring nearby but too wary of both you and cars - typical fox behaviour |
