| | | Re: Badger cull South West There seems to be a very strong suggestion from many that a cull would at best be ineffectual and at worst actually help in spreading TB amongst cattle populations.
A cull therefore seems pointless when the Badgers will lose out, the Farmers will see a higher percentage of their cattle struck down with TB, and the Taxpayer will pick up the bill for a highly contensious operation that will benefit nobody.
Absolute lunacy. |

Absolute lunacy. | But this is politics with a large "country" vote to appease, even though the new ministers have claimed to be "science based", I suspect they will, like all politicians, have an eye to the next election even if it is five years away.

True enough, it will be interesting to see if they choose to appease the country vote on the back of flawed "science based" research.
It would be nice to think that logic might rear its head occasionaly in the political world |

Of course they did! That's why it's defined as Bovine TB.

| | | Re: Badger cull South West Well both the tories and lib dems did say they would cull badgers. A lot of landowners wont be happy so it going to cost even more than they think, with all the added policing bills! |

| | | Re: Badger cull South West The Great Badger and Bovine TB Debate
The above is an interesting link and whilst there is much in the way of conflicting opinions out there on various sites, the authors comments seem to make the most sense i have heard so far. |
