There has been a speight of hedgehogs arriving at rescue centres with horrendous injuries; broken legs, jaws, eyes hanging out etc. Vet examinations show they have been used as a football.
PLEASE talk to your kids about this. It's not acceptable and we WILL call the police. |

Yes You Are definitely talking to the wrong people here ! if you want to Educate the Ignorant surely the best place to start is Schools ! |

Yes we're working on schools. Sadly the parents of all the children caught injuring wildlife all say it couldn't have been their child.
I realise members on here are far more alert than elsewhere but the more people we can get through to the better.
Please if you see any child kicking a hedgehog, pick the animal up and get it to a rescue as they don't always show immediate problems, and call the police straight away.
I know of 8 animals this week that have had to be put down, I had one here as well and you can guarantee that if I know of 8 then there are a lot more. |

The young of all species, including the Human species, learn and subsequently act from example....It makes one wonder what 'attitudes' these children are copying. Is it their elders' attitudes, or what they see on the media, especially TV and U-Tube etc on the web, and the electronic games that are available. I have been absolutely horrified by some things I have stumbled upon on the computer ! Why is this allowed? I remember during the case of the torture and murder of little James Bulger by two young boys, that it was said that their behavoir had been influenced by one of these 'games' they had been playing . I think that says it all ! Sometimes I just despair at what this once beautiful world has become, mostly due to so called 'progress'....Posie.. |

I have the local police non urgent number in my mobile just in case I spot things like this.
