| | | Are there any badgers in Norfolk? I have lived in Norfolk for ten years now and have seen all manner of large mammals - foxes in Norwich, otters in the Broads, weasels and stoats in hedgerows, hares in fields and at least three species of deer. However, I have never seen a badger. Now I'm not particularly surprised by this as they are famously shy and nocturnal. However, on my travels out of Norfolk I frequently see the most obvious (and tragic) signs - corpses, left as roadkill by the side of the road. These badger corpses can be found in Suffolk, Essex, Cambs - all around Norfolk but never actually in it. On a recent stretch of road in Bucks I counted six dead badgers in only a few minutes. So, has anyone ever seen a badger - dead or alive in Norfolk and if so, why this anomaly with the roadkill? |

| | | Re: Are there any badgers in Norfolk? Well, there certainly are Badgers in Norfolk, though they may not be as common as they are in other counties. I can't say why you don't see any road casualties, but I often hear people complaining about the lack of roads in the county, so perhaps that has something to do with it
