Pine marten museum specimens

Hi everyone

The Vincent Wildlife Trust is looking for pine marten specimens (mounts, skulls or skins) to sample to gain important genetic information. The specimens must be from a known provenance from England or Wales. Does anyone know of any museums, schools or even pubs that have a stuffed pine marten? I would be really grateful of any leads anyone could give me.

Can't help you except to say that a few years ago I wanted to collect all the historical records of a butterfly species I could. I contacted all the curators of city museums with a natural history section to ask them to look through the collections for for specimens of my species. I must have got a 90% helpful response. Most museum collections are probably catalogued on computer now. Good luck with your project.
