| | | Are there wild rabbits in South East London? Hi, a new member here. Can I ask for some help in settling a "friendly" dispute with my wife??!!
Back in the days when my dog enjoyed an early morning romp in the park (near Forest Hill), I'm sure that we used to see wild rabbits. However, Mrs says that I was clearly hallucinating as there are none until we hit the Kent borders. Can anyone give guidance as several hours of trawling Google has left me even more frustrated and still lacking evidence!
Thanks |

| | | Re: Are there wild rabbits in South East London? I can't answer your question directly but I've just checked on the National Biological Networks gateway site and there is a record almost bang on Forest Hill.
See NBN Gateway - 10km Grid Square species data for TQ37
I'll leave the geography to you and you can show the Mrs the evidence! |

Does the Streatham Ent and NHS still exist? If so an enquiry to them of them or the mammal recorder for the area.
I can't see anyone in your area listed here on the Mammal Societies website. County Mammal Recorders
The Londoner - was 1970 around the time that you walked your dog there? |

| | | Re: Are there wild rabbits in South East London? It was the late 90's when we used to go to Blythe Hill Fields. I see rabbits everywhere as soon as we reach 10 miles further into Kent but having insisted that the dog used to chase them, I've suddenly realised that I don't see them anywhere around here now. We have an abundance of foxes and grey squirrels and whilst I believe that the habitat is suitable for rabbits, they're not "visible" if they're here at all. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
