| | | Bat Question Hello, does anyone have experience of bats entering roosts (although in this case it is potential hibernacula) at ground level? I am working on a site at the moment where there is a great potential hibernacula but the only entry point is at ground/pavement level (no evidence observed but if presnet may not be visible). Any thoughts/experience? Thanks in advance |

| | | Re: Bat Question Yes they will enter at ground level, especially if there is limited disturbance and the gap is large enough to fly straight through, they wont crawl through a tiny gap. |

henrya | Thanks I have never experienced this. I suppose it makes sense as they do it in trees, walls etc. |

| | | Re: Bat Question A pipistrelle can crawl through a gap under a closed door that's big enough to push your finger tip into up to the nail - about half an inch. It will fly down, land on the floor, crawl through and take flight from the ground on the other side. Observed. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
