| | | Weasel! i was walking along the thames today and a wiesel out of nowhere come running upto me, and stopped about 6ft away from me looked up at me and then shot into a bush, ive lived in london all my life(32 years) and never have i seen one of these!!! is there many in london and ive just not been lucky enough to have spotted??
ive only just really started to go on wildlife walks and am amazed at what you can find. in the last 3 months ive seen foxes(in broard daylight) water voles, newts, mice,a red kites and rabbits and a number of other birds that ive never noticed are out there. and today the wiesel just blow me away. we had a moment!! just looking at eachother!
has anyone else had a encounter that just blow you away!? |

| | | re: Weasel! i saw a stoat once, when I was a kid, in the woods near a boating lake I used to sail at. It was a beautiful creature, it just glanced at me, and then it's short black-tipped tail dissappeared into the undergrowth. So pretty and yet such an efficient predator, and a rare sight for a boy from the suburbs! |

| | re: Weasel! Whereabouts in London did you see the Weasel?
I've seen a few around the suburbs over the years, but they are easy to overlook. 2 of those I've seen were in the same area at Kew Gardens.
London is very rich in wildlife if you know where to look. |
