| | | fox cubs! hi everyone,
As some of you may know i am currently making a documentary about urban foxes inside an allotments in stoke. now i have got some great footage of a fox, and by speaking to the local allotment owners they think that the den is deffinately inside the allotments grounds. i have narrowed the search down to about three possible sites and i know the signs to look out for. anyway i am thinking that maybe a good idea of finding an active den, due to the time of year is listening out for the sound of cubs. is there any particular time that little ones maybe making more noise or is it just luck.
I'm not going to disturb the area, i just want to find it and set up a hide at a safe distance to film. any help would be greatly appreciated.
As well as this as i have let it be known i am looking for any willing helpers that may have a den in their garden for filming opportunities. as i said any help woulld be greatly appreciated.
thanks

| | | Re: fox cubs! oh and i almost forgot, if anyone does have a den that they are willing to let me film, or maybe have a fox that visits regulary and you don't want the location disclosed you can send me a private thread and i can respond. i realise that some people are very wary about people claiming to be wildlife enthuaists, so to prove myself trustworthy i can give my tutors contact details as well as obtaining a university disclosure document which works as a contract. i.e the production team cannot disclose the location etc. anyway thanks every for any info you can give. |

| | | Re: fox cubs! You should be able to hear them once they emerge above ground (possibly in thte next couple of weks). They can get very noisy when the adults bring food to them. Best times are probably at night (10pm and later from past experience of listening for young cubs). |

| | Re: fox cubs! Hi James,
I'm currently studying an MA in Wildlife Documentary in Manchester and my final project is about foxes. What course are you on? I was wondering how your project went and if you managed to find a fox den?
I'm trying to find a fox den close to manchester in an urban setting, I will be filming between June and August, so trying to finalise locations at the moment. Well I hope your filming went well, take care, Jo |

| | Re: fox cubs! Hi,
For my project I don't need the cubs from very young, i want to get shots of them learning to hunt with the adults and playing near the den. The story is about the affects parasites have on foxes, so want images to compare healthy and mangy foxes. Thanks, Jo | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
