| | | First fox! Driving home today at about half seven I saw my first ever fox. It had just crossed the road a few metres in front so we stopped the car and it just sat at the side of the road, directly looking at us for a couple of minutes. It was absolutely gorgeous and we got a real good look, before he tottered away over the field. It was a really nice encounter and I just couldn't believe it! |

| | | Re: First fox! Congrats, Fieldfare. Hope you see a few more.
Yesterday my wife & I went to a garden centre looking form some pots. We were walking around as you do, and we spotted a fox casually ambling through a load of potted trees. We followed him, and he curled up between rows and settled down for a snooze in the sun.
If only I'd had the camera, eh. |

| | | Re: First fox! I know I shouldnt but I do feed a fox who waits at a certain time for me..
I shine a torch in the dark and he pops his head round the hedge so I can see him and lets me know he is there.
He loves cheesy pasta yet hates macoroni cheese.
He doesnt like Winalot yet likes Pal.
Everyone has likes and dislikes I guess! |

| | | Re: First fox! We have a lot of foxes round our way and you do see them very often but usually from a distance and they don't hang around. This is because they are usually shot at if they show themselves and as for sticking their heads up if you shine a torch, not a chance. I was speaking to a farmer last year who had shot 24 foxes during the spring and he still had a problem with them. Makes you wonder how many are out there.

Will have to keep my eye out for him along that road. He was a lovely animal but I was quite surprised at how small he was, just like a small dog really, I expected them to be bigger.
