I googled them to learn a bit more, and am thinking the wild ground that backs onto the garden has strange hummocky grass with little paths through, so maybe that's it! In case it makes any difference to you knowledgeable folks, I have found and photographed one of the sawn off fronds...
I shall be very happy if we're home to any kind of vole actually, or even Mr Ratty. Thanks for input! |

| | | Re: ID pls re something making home inside phormium Keep a look out for those droppings, if you find any we should be able to confirm 100% what it is. I know this is about Cornwall mammals but I think it's very useful for id purposes.

I keep checking the area but can see no new chewed stalks and no droppings, so I'm afriad whatever it was has moved on. But I'm working on a system to keep my Jack Rusell out of that area, just to see if I can entice it/ them back. I promise to let you know if there's ever any news!
