| | | Strange Animal Noises 3 am Help!!! Hi all,
I wondered if anyone could help me with this one.
Very early this morning I woke up and was quite warm, so I opened the window and got back into bed. I was lying there trying to fall asleep when I heard a fox bark. There followed a scuffle of some sort and then I heard a very very strange repetitive sound that I really can't identify.
It was a sort of whistle/wheeze followed immediately by a sort of gobbling sound. The creature repeated the call a number of times until it was far enough away for it not to be heard.
I should have gotten out of bed to look, I know, but I was a bit scared so I just lay there listening. My hubby heard it too and didn't know what it was.
I live in the Cannock Chase region and we have deer, foxes, badgers, hedgehogs and supposedly wild boar and a mysterious big cat population.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what might have made the sound? |

| | | Re: Strange Animal Noises 3 am Help!!! I heard this a week ago and thanks to a link on here I discovered it was an alarm call of a fox. I don't know how to do a link but if you have a look at "A strange night call" posted on 25/01/11 then that gives you a link to the different sounds that foxes make. Hope that helps. |
