| | | Something pooing in my garden?? Keep finding quite copious amounts of poo in my garden, normally in the thick, grassy areas around the edges of the lawns...moved around 7 lots this week. Too big for cats (which cover their doing up usually) and no dogs roaming around the area..only happens overnight, and not really big enough for the standard dog poo size. Only started happening again in last couple of weeks, none left over winter period...am very confused as to what this could be and am considering an all night sit in with flashlights to solve the mystery!! Not the nicest of topics but anyone shed any light on the poo issue?
Is usually 2-4 lumps, semi solid and pale-ish in colour, no obvious fur/bones/insect bits in it (you have to look, as an nature enthusiast )
Sorry people if u eating whilst reading this |

| | | Re: Something pooing in my garden?? Hi K4t3, any chance of a photo? Was there any smell from it? Can't be dog, because the smell would of been obvious if it had of been. Cats do usually bury their poo, but not always. Fox poo would have a strong musty smell. Is the poo sausage shaped? Strange that there are no bones, fur, feathers, or insects present. Badgers usually make a shallow scrape. At the minute I have no idea

| | | Re: Something pooing in my garden?? Dogghound, have had cats for years with litter trays...believe me, I know cat poo when I see it!
Is generally in about 2- 6 pieces, pale brick pink colour with white bits, no obvious hair (cats again!) or bones in it, general clump around 3-5" around, at least 0.5" thick, pungent smell (there's a surprise!), slightly sloppy and always in thick grassy areas around the edges of the lawn, grass slightly scratched up but faeces not covered over, goes back to same areas time after time, but only after other waste been removed...
Can't believe I am spending my time off describing poo online!
Yes, is sausage shaped, 0.5-1" thick, generally in several pieces in a pile together, often quite sloppy, deposited at night, several favourite spots to chose, but only when the previous waste been cleaned up..

| | | Re: Something pooing in my garden?? The fact it lacks hair, bones in it is suggestive it is a domestic animal. What is the surrounding area like? are you suburban? farmland? I appreciate you know what typical cat poo looks like but depending on diet etc it can change. Does it go to a point? |

| | | Re: Something pooing in my garden?? Semi rural, bordering from small village to arable farmland and reclaimed pit spoil, mixed habitats from wetland to gardens. Inherited this property and know that this poo prob been going on for years, despite local cats moving in and out constantly and no result so far, know that foxes been seen in the area, but not been witness to them personally...
After intense consideration of the poo specimens....no point seen so far...seems no begining and no end...

| | | Re: Something pooing in my garden?? If you can get a photo that would be great, it doesnt sound like a typical fox scat but a photo would help. |
