Stoat in Ermine

I watched a Stoat hunting this morning and was surprised to see he was almost all white apart from a patch on the top of his head and his black tip to the tail.
I thought it was only in the North of the country where they changed colour and hardly ever in the South.
First white one I have ever seen on Sheppey.
He wouldn't stay still but I managed a poor pic of him as he dashed off in full flight along the far edge of the creek.

Certainly quite unusual this far south- good sighting.

Wow that is a southern Ermine! Mind you Ive read in some places the stoast only go white in winters with snow - the amzing thing is they turn white before the snow gets here!
