Food remains that have been regurgitated?

Hi folks,

It's not pretty, I know. But this seems to be regurgitated corn. I found this last August in very long grass quite near a stream. The reason I assume this is a mammal's doing is that it was found in a shallow scrape, with what appeared to be droppings (I think you can see these towards the top of the shot).



Could this be the behaviour of a fox?

This is a badger larine. They often feed on arable crops at that time of year, the scrape is diagnostic although the droppings look quite pale and abit aqueous here.

Thanks for that! I never would have thought they were droppings. It's really great to have found my first badger latrine One for my book of "firsts".

You often find them along rivers, ditches, woodland edges, hedgerows etc as these often mark territory edges.
