I caught another two after over two weeks of nothing. One of them totally intergrated and the other one they absoluted destroyed. He has a gash under his eye and bites all over his legs and he's now missing a toe on this right hand...clearly he was an unwelcome male.
And one of them lost an inch of tail (during the scruffle?) via the skinning method but has since chewed it off (there was just the bone/gristle left) and seems fine again.
I'm going to be releasing them down by my local river. I'll put them on the other side of the river so there is a nice barrier (as well as several miles) between us.
Would it be a good idea to leave them their current bed (the converse box) as a place they can hide in until they get used to where they are? I'm gunna leave them a pile of food for them (is that a good idea?). |

| | | Re: 16 wild house mice... Ok, so the mouse family is here to stay. I just couldn't do it. They've all become so happy and friendly. Eating from my hand, playing and rolling around.
Some of them have lived over 80% of their average wild life in luxury now and I just couldn't condemn them to potential early death.
Oh, and they LOVE chunky chicken soup!!! |

| | | Re: 16 wild house mice... Yeah, I believe so. They do have different characteristics to Wood Mice though which is were some people would start to classifying them as House Mice. |
