| | | Re: Wood Mouse or House Mouse I still think that they are probably wood mice, coming in from the cold for the winter. Can they leap 2ft vertically from a standing start? Wood mice are prodigious jumpers. Regardless of what type of mouse they are, if you are live-trapping them, release them a very long way from the house, the car, the shed - anywhere. Three miles worked for me!

| | | Re: Wood Mouse or House Mouse They have been quite bouncy when I have caught them - but they cant jump out of the 1.5 ft tub I put them in........I have been releasing them away from the house near a field/woodland with a small wooden hut.......its probably 5 minutes away from the house - but if they can make it back from there then fair play to them...they can live in th house
Is the tail of the house mouse and wood mouse very different?? I thought house mouse had scaly tails?

I know you were joking, but don`t even think about it! Mice are cute outdoors. They are sweet. Indoors, they are vermin. They widdle and c**p over everything and anything. They will do a lot of damage and you will have to stop being "Mr Nice Guy" and get down to some serious pest control. I speak from bitter experience...

| | | Re: Wood Mouse or House Mouse haha - i was joking trik, but thanks for your concern. I realise that I may have to resort to most drastic tactics soon - I have caught three so far and I know there is at least one more roamin around - hopefully he/she will be caught soon and that will be the last of them

| | | Re: Wood Mouse or House Mouse Its a House mouse those eyes are to small for a woody. Ideally a clear view of the backfoot would help. House mice can have quite dark brown pelage making them look more woodmouse like in colour although they are always drap appose to the more rich colour of the woodmouse. These guys do seem to be overlooked as woodmice far to often, around here they are far commoner in urban areas and suburban areas. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
