| | | Tracks on driveway - for the 3rd time Hello people! I wondered if you could help me identify some tracks that have been on my drive, taking the same route, for the 3rd night on snow. OK i dont have a pic..but heres how im gunna discribe them small mammel, Fox/Cat BUT its the way there spaced out there like Rabbit! Which is all fine and dandy i hear you say but i liven in the middle of blackpool where grass is rare Not even a grassy garden close by! I will use the letter "o" each "o" been one paw print. to try n explain HOW the tracks are laid out. Here we go. oooo oooo oooo its like theres 4 paw prints in a straight like then a 16inch gap then again 4 more prints, another 16in gap ecp and they take the same route each time....ideas please. I know cats have a "uneven" trail and foxes have one just a nice neat straight line of prints (he visits regulary but we never see him due to the cats eating his supper we put out) Any ideas on this strange foxy/rabbit/kangeroo style leaping creature? lol sorry shudda got pics! |

Difficult to say what the tracks may be without a picture, but, have you considerd the possibility of it being a squirrel? They tend to move around in leaps and bounds. Do you have any trees near you that might be home to squirrels?

| | | Re: Tracks on driveway - for the 3rd time A dog fox and a vixen have different tracks a vixens is in a nice straight line but a dog fox has a offset track it is because his rear legs have a pair of B????between them making it difficult to keep in a straight line also it will depend on the speed of the fox when moving quickly but not running both rear paws fall very closely together giving a track similar to a huge rabbit.
Good luck waiting for the animal and please let us now what you see.

| | | Re: Tracks on driveway - for the 3rd time members of the mustiladae family move in leaps and bounds often, such as weasels and otters. If you live in a non rural area could it be an escaped/dumped ferret? They will scavenge for food in urban areas, but unfortunately they can't really survive in the wild after domestication so if you think this is a possibility please keep a look out. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
