Is this a wood mouse or a house mouse?

Living in my porch and eating my bird seed. For scale it is in the plastic cup I use as a scoop. Jumps quite high!

Whereabouts in the country are you dampflippers?

The only reason I ask is that Yellow necked Mice look similar to Woodmice (at certain angles and life stages, sex etc.) Woodmouse would be my my first stab at ID. Definately not Housemouse.

The ears do look a little small for wood or yellow necked mouse. Plus the colour also matches a house mouse, so i agree with aeshna5 and nightshade.

I agree with your ID's in the cold light of day and realise I've made a Parus major of myself. I must learn to avoid the late night lure of WAB combined with other festive recreational activities.

I'm in the north east.
I was hoping it was a wood mouse

I thought it was a bit too chocolatey for a house mouse, and it's tail is brown not pinky. Never mind, as long as it doesn't make a break through into the house itself!
Anyway, I was quite please how good the photo was. I had to move the plastic cup so I could get my hand in, then it was just point and shoot blindly on macro.
