| | | field mouse help! hi, i dont really know if im doing this right but i need so advice on a little mouse critor that my cat brought home yesterday night.
he looked dead when i first saw that my cat had brought a 'present' to train our younger kitten with, but i realised the mouse was still breathing, i lifted him up and he dosent appear to have any outside injurys caused by the cat, although his back legs are not working at all.
i made a nest for it with my hamsters sawdust and bedding, when i put him down he just drags himself around but his back leg occasionally vibrates it the same way a dogs would should you tickle a particular spot. its breathing is also strained but only when i check on it.
i gave the mouse a bit of water and some chocolate and it seems to have eaten some of that, its still got bowel movements so it suggests its back isnt broke, but im worried that im not helping it and just prolonging a painful life.
any advice on how to look after this would be much appriciated!
