Jackrabbit distress (hare), Cottontail distress (rabbit) & the High Pitched Squeal are probably the most useful for use in the UK. You could try putting the files on your phone (if it has a built-in speaker) and see if that works. Alternatively, you could try calling using your hand (suck on the palm, you have far more control than the usual 'kissing the back of your hand' usually recommended) and use the MP3's to see if you are making the right noise.
I've been calling foxes for thirty years now I suppose, with practice you'll get better results using your hand than any call in my experience - though the hare calls are very loud and are useful for calling in distant, unseen foxes.
Cheers

| | | Re: Want to buy a fox whistle! dont know where.. I think Jonathan is spot on re sucking the back of the palm. I first read about this a while ago on WAB of course It costs nothing, and with practice as Jonathan says should get better results.

Give it a try, it costs nothing and works really well. |

If one call doesn't work it's sometimes worth varying them. Try blowing the 'squeak' thing cut out of a squeaky toy, or put a blade of grass between your thumbs pressed together as if praying, and blow across that (supposed to make a sound like a roe kid). Listen to alarmed young bantam chicks and try to immitate their call - a simple 'seep' sound that becomes louder and more agitated as they become alarmed - that can work too at times.
Cheers
