This one is a very pic heavy thread... but there are quite a few nice pictures i'd like to share!
i started the day started off with the intention of photographing Sika however this was not to be and not only did i fail to photography them but i got just a fleeting glimpse of a hind and calf.
First up a Herd of fallow deer with several prickets 2/3 Sore's and one huge Buck, we got within 30 meters of this group due to a bit of luck as we we at the opposite end of the field until some walkers spooked the deer to almost right on top of us!
The same group on the way over to where we ended up after being spooked by some walkers to the right of the shot.
Later on only a kilometer or so from where we saw the first lot we witnessed this awesome battle, this is the first time i have seen fallow deer rut in the flesh, and crikey it was one hell of a fight went on for what seemed like hours but in reality was less than 5 minutes alot longer than the ones on the TV! the loser ended up with a nasty gash to his hind right leg from when he turned and fled.
Red deer out in a field
This is my classic red deer stag shot .... i have pictures with stags peeing in 3 different parts of the country ... wild have to start up a deer urination Gallery
Young Red deer that strayed closer to us away form the rest of the group
We saw several mistle thrush's in a field and i managed to get a quick shot of one
still got 100+ pictures to go through but finally some pictures good enough to share
