The fox portrayed was probably captured by a bunch of local men with the intent of making a profit. Luckily for the poor creature it had the chance to gnaw through the leather part of its fetters and get away. More fortunately for the fox it was discovered by intelligent caring people. It could have run off, got tangled and starved to death. A miserable way to go.
The RSPCA has greater powers now than before, but the courts still make a mockery of the valiant work done. This is something that needs changing and right soon. Not a mere fine and a minor gaol sentence, something more and drastic.
Oh and contrary to my earlier post - shooting is too good for them!
