| | | Tree climbing Fox Today I was watching a young fox in my garden which was at the base of a plum tree, it repeatedly looked up into the tree and then launched itself five feet up to a fork in the trunk. It then proceeded to climb to the top and pulled off a few plums , then very ungracefully half climbed half fell to the ground to eat them, it repeated this several times. Has anyone else seen foxes do this? or should I call Simon King ha ha. |

Yes it is common knowledge that Foxes are quite good climbers although as you have noticed, they are no so good in coming down to the ground.

| | | Re: Tree climbing Fox Fascinating to watch, and yes I can confirm they are 'clumsy' at coming down. Over the years I've had a couple of local foxes do this (usually when pigeons have nests). Here's some video I took a couple of years ago. |

We have a youngish oak tree in the enclosure that houses our fox cubs until they go for release & they are regularly seen lying along the branches of it. They seem to enjoy it.
