| | | sick fox at lunchtime today i was visited by a very sick vixen.i recognised her as being one of the family i have been feeding each night but the last time i had seen her,she was limping, looking a bit thin but eating well.this was probably 4 weeks ago. today however, she was skeletal, seemed to be having trouble walking and her eyes were severely affected with discharge.she didnt appear to have any mange however.she ate a little food though she seemed too weak to chew much.my garden is quite overgrown in places and she disappeared.im not sure what to do if she reappears?in this area(n.e)i dont know of any wildlife rescue centres. any ideas ?? |

| | | Re: sick fox Or call the RSPCA 24hr emergency helpline: 0300 1234 999.
They will be able to give you the contact for an emergency Vet/Wildlife rescue service that's closest to your location. |

| | | Re: sick fox Hope this works out ok. The cubs will be pretty much fully independent by now so if, sadly, she doesn't make it the cubs should be able to survive well on their own. |

| | | Re: sick fox just thought id let you know the vixen has been back this morning. she appears to have a badly ulcerated front foot and is struggling to walk. she ate some food--cat food and meat scraps. i have contacted the rspca and await their response. fingers crossed.

| | | Re: sick fox update--rspca have just contacted me to say they cover an area in the north from berwick to durham--i am to let them know when the vixen appears again and IF they are in the area they will call. since she's only in garden for 20 mins,i dont see this being successful.
ive also contacted the NFWS but their voicemail is full!!! i'll keep trying.
the other fox societies only operate in the south.
i feel quite despondent........ |

| | | Re: sick fox Please keep us all posted on the condition of the vixen, all you can do is try and keep her fed as the lameness will effect her hunting, If she has cubs they will be large enough to hunt them selves by now, She will eat dog biscuits as well as some meats, aland. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
