| | Hello + fox video Hi, I just found this site tonight and it seems excellent so I've decided to join. Going through the threads on the mammal forum and there seem to be a number of keen fox lovers.
I've been filming these 4 adolescent foxes in the alleyway behind my house. It has garages that back on to it but none of my neighbours ever use it and it has become rather overgrown. An oak tree in my back garden has a couple of boughs that hang over the alleyway and I've been sitting up there filming them and they have no idea I'm there! Will be putting together a proper documentary on them soon (after I've finished one on Richmond Park) but I thought I'd put a clip on youtube for you guys to check out in the meantime. got about an hour's footage but this is just a minute long: YouTube - A tree with a view: Red Foxes
I apologise for the shaky camerawork, as you can imagine, it's a bit tricky getting a tripod up a tree. Press the 'HD' symbol at the bottom right of the video to see in HD (provided you have an HD screen to watch it on of course). Filmed in Ealing, west London.
Anyway, I look forward to chatting to you knowledgeable chaps and chapesses :-)

Can anyone tell me where I can post a video that's over 10 minutes/2GB as this is youtube's limit?? documentaries will be about 15 mins probably.
Cheers in advance. |

| | | Re: Hello + fox video Most free sites will have bandwidth and size and length restrictions (Photobucket has a 300MB limit for uploads). 2GB is huge and not really necessary for showing videos on the web (sounds like that's the size of your uncompressed AVI files). You should save/compress to a smaller format before uploading. Your software should give you various options and most sites have advice pages on the best formats to use. Anything over 100MB is pretty big. If you are serious about distributing high quality 2GB files, then finding a suitable and legitimate/legal torrent site might be better as 2GB downloads will also take rather more time than most people have!
As for time/length you may need to pay to get past that limit, use your own web space, or split the video into 2 parts. Just checked Dailymotion and they have a 150MB and 20 minute limit, so that might work. They also seem to have good help pages regarding formats. |
