| | | Re: Best time of year to see dolphins and whales in scotland good time for Cetacean movement in the Minch, or if boats aren't good for you try Ardnamurchan point - also good for Wildcat and Pine Marten.......
Minch will also produce Basking Shark, but you need to be very lucky or put the hours in,
Another heads up for Chanonry Point - also lots of chartered boats for Moray Bottlenoses at Cromarty and legit Rock Dove!! |

| | | Re: Best time of year to see dolphins and whales in scotland Chanonry Point has been mentioned, but it has been somewhat disappointing this year. The dolphins are there daily (best time to see them during the 3 or 4 hours following low water) but their aerial displays have been less frequent recently in comparison to recent years.
You can keep an eye on their levels of activity by visiting Charlie Phillips' blog. Charlie, who works for the WDCS (Whale and dolphin conservation society) is a regular at The Point, though recently he has been getting quite a few good sightings and photographs at North Kessock near Inverness. http://www.adoptadolphin.com/blog/
