| | | Re: Hedgehog poo, possibly? There was more than one following in a trail so I assume the small bit broke off but I didn't break it off. I have noticed hedgehogs in the garden more often just lately I have been putting out some dog food but never see who actually eats it. I suspect it's the magpies early in the morning because it is not touched when I got to bed after midnight...
Thanks for the positive replies I must have a well fed and large hedgehog!

It looks like a blackbird dropping. hmm....or a rat perhaps. | I agree with Dogghound, doesn't look like a mustelid scat to me either. I think it's a hedgehog poo, but I may well be wrong.

| | | Re: Hedgehog poo, possibly? What was nice, re the stuff I spotted, was that there was some definite hog poo on the other side of the house, on the path. I pointed it out to the lady who owned the house and she crumbled it (lots of beetle cases) and was delighted. She wanted to phone her husband straight away to share the news. I'd gone there to do a water vole survey, so the hedgehog scat was a bonus. Isn't it great when landowners are so positive about nature? |
