It is definitely mustelid - mink or stoat? Someone who knows about scale will probably confirm.

The more I look, the more I think it's too long for stoat. Are there water voles on the reservoir? If so, you need to contact your local WT and show them the photo and tell them the exact location you found it.

Kate, It looks to long for either, certainly twisted, but it's very long.

Chassyp If you find anymore then I think you'll need to carry out a sniff test and report back with details. That will certainly let us know if it's mink or not.

Thank you for the input everyone. I forgot to do the sniffy thing, whoops!!
I often get the look from my good lady when doing so!! I think she thinks its a bit weird sniffing poo!! I`m in the area over the next week so I will keep a look out for it. cheers.
