You sure thats not a weasel? looks far to pale to be a stoat. As for the prey its a small bird, wader by the looks of it. |

I agree, from the size, it looks more like a weasel than a stoat. The bird - possibly a Common Sandpiper? Was the pic taken near water?

Not anywhere near water, but in a field with potatoes, where he was about to disappear, only other birds around were pied wagtails, which would be my guess, and i see what you mean about being a weasel, never thought of that

I would also say weasel, and some sort of wading bird by the look of the feet.
