Vole?
I think this is a vole. I'm amazed how fast they are, as it was close to me and as soon as I lifted my camera to take a pic it zoomed straight down into a hole.

Not sure if it can be identified from this photo, I tried to use Night mode as it was so dark and even sport mode produced blurred shots.

Looks like the gingery brown coat of a Bank Vole to me, Treehawk.
