| | | Re: Baby Bat Season Ditto.
What should we look out for, and what on earth does one do to aid a baby bat in distressed circumstances?
Honestly, I wouldn't have a clue.....
Not even sure I could tell the difference between a baby bat and a fallen fledgling? |

| | | Re: Baby Bat Season advice and helpline can be found here Bat Found on the Ground - Bat Conservation Trust
bottom line dont handle them unless you have to, and be very gentle if you do as its very easy to damage the wing membranes - and call the helpline to be put in touch with an experienced bat rehabilitator in your area.

Not that I ever see any bats lol | As eeyore has said really keep them warm and secure (so that cats and other predators cannot kill or injure it) I would always offer water from a clean preferably unused artists paint brush if you are not a trained bat handler call 0845 1300 228 for advice.
Depending on its age and size and wether it is/was flying and the roost is know it could be taken back to the roost area or where it was found but it should not just be left.
Local Bat Groups or the above phone number would be the best bet if there is any doubt in the finders ability to cope with the situation

Brushes may well be treated with insecticide by manufacturers to keep the moths away, and this can be very bad for young creatures.
