| | | Countryfile Badgers I heard from a guy who was contacted by the researchers for this show and they merely wanted him to conform cattle caught TB from badgers. Odd.
The segment will be aired this sunday on Countryfile at 7pm. Should be interesting. |

| | | Re: Countryfile Badgers I will watch Country File later as it would be interesting to see how the debate goes.
7pm is a good slot for the programme, I just hope they don't just blame the badgers at such a prime time.

| | | Re: Countryfile Badgers yes it might be mere propaganda from one side or the other, shame they can't sort it out sensibly but then these are humans we're talking about. |

| | | Re: Countryfile Badgers That was abit disappointing. What was most annoying was that the SW dairy woman's statement that "a targeted cull is needed" was not challenged with the earlier statement that the evidence of the RBCT showed it would make things worse. Perhaps that woman did not believe the RBCT evidence, but she needs to say why to make any point.
I was also annoyed they did not explain why a targeted cull is bad news for farmers.
Balance is OK in politics and policy, but journalists should understand that in science there IS a right answer and a wrong answer. |

| | | Re: Countryfile Badgers I agree with your points especially the missed opportunity to ask the woman why she thought a cull was absolutely necessary given the results of the scientific study. However, there has been divergent scientific thought about a badger cull yet the ISG is the best we've had, so let's go with that. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
