Besides I would imagine those conifers were non-natives that were destroying the environment around them making it unsuitable for natives to survive in... |

| | | Re: Deer killed in Poole Oh well Charlie B and Nigel, maybe I've been over-re-active, but I just think that at this time of the year the birds will nest almost anywhere as so much of their natural habitat is being destroyed. The trees were Cypresses 'Macrocarpa', I will take your word for it that professional tree surgeons will be clued up on the laws on nests, but I am sceptical about many, but I will still stand by the fact that many people with electric hedge shearers do not check, I have witnessed birds frantically flying round the bushes when this is being done. |

Jim | I for one am outraged every time I hear someone has cut down trees they shouldn't...especially to build roads that won't help the congestion..don't mention Weymouth!!!And also the ......that set heaths on fire!
I once when I was younger 15ish ....kicked a boy in his 20s that had kicked an old ladies dog walking infront on me...even though there were 2 of them and a lot bigger than me I couldn't stop myself...I would do it again!Even if it was a toad or snake....my husbandlaughs at me because I won't drive up our drive until I make sure there is notheing on it...even slugs!
I hate these stupid programs that promote people eating grubs & maggotts!

| | | Re: Deer killed in Poole I was going to reply to this post re< if it was a toad etc> I too feel just as angry at any senseless destruction or killing of any creatures, they all have a right to live, and why should we deprive them of it. BTW I'm not of a religion that forbids it, simply what I'd consider that I am a compassionate caring human being and has a respect for all life. What is happening to this planet is mostly IMO caused by man, be it greed or just lack of caring, from cutting down of trees and trimming bushes, using up farmland, and buying up and building on every little bit of green space, I could go on.
I heard this morning about the decline of swifts by 50% in the last ten years, this is absolutely awful and quite sad, but again it is the progress of man that is the cause, I've hardly seen any swallows this year,
Good for you kicking the lad for kicking someone's dog, I'd do the same, but I'm the one that would probably end up in jail. I wouldn't come back to this world as it is in it's present state or by all accounts the way it's going. |

| | | Re: Deer killed in Poole Just read that in the Rossmore area of Poole there are animals being mutilated too...Starting to think that laws should be passed protecting ALL animals...I know...it will only happen in my dreams!
There really is something wrong with people that do this...makes you wonder if this will then lead onto hurting/killing humans as they don't seem to have any respect for life!
