Hedgehog poo

I have a wooden hedgehog house in my garden and it was occupied until a few weeks ago. I cleaned it out and re filled it and up until now I don't think a hedgehog has been near it. This morning I found, what I think, is a hedgehog poo just outside the entrance. I checked inside - no hedgehog. Is a hedgehog laying claim?

Hogs tend to 'nest hop' at this time of year, so don't worry, one will be sure to take up residence again soon

Hogs don't 'mark' territories, they merely poop wherever they happen to be at that particular time of need - usually whilst they're eating! Was there any food near your hog box per chance?
