Thriving Otters...

I saw this story in my local paper tonight, and luckily they also have it in the online version...

Otters accustomed to city living in Winchester (From Daily Echo)

They are just too cute for words, really, so I thought you'd all like to see how well they're doing down here . I really hope they're left alone though - I'm only too aware of what this sort of publicity could mean for them .

Otters are generally doing well and it as a result of fantastic work by the Otter trust. Their reintroduction programme was brilliant in that it was well researched and limited to appropriate numbers with a resistance to throwing as many otters into a every river possible. However we are at a dangerous crossroads and if you check out Fishing forums there is a lot of opposition mounting which can only get worse. Many fisherman are excellant but others will fight tooth and nail to protect against any threat to their expensive charges.
