hello
3 nights ago my cat brought me a present a tiny field mouse, still alive but so young that its eyes were not yet open,
i have got a shoe box and placed tissue, cotton wool and newspaper with a toilet roll in there,
the first night he was so cold and shaking that i just wrapped him in a tissue and put him in my top, i fed him with a syringe of warm semi skimmed milk every hour or so,
i have been doing this ever since, i also put some muesli in his box with tiny nuts and raisins, i do not know if he has eaten them i have noticed today that his eyes are now open,
he is approx 2.5 cm long ,
also today his poo is starting to change from dark to lighter is this a bad sign?
i have also been told that as i have now been hand rearing him he will not survive in the wild, my children obviously want to keep him as he is so cute,
i would not have a problem with this and want to do what is best for him(we have now called him pixi)
please what do i do?
he sleeps in my hand and has on a couple of occasions squeaked until i picked him up where he just curled up and went to sleep in my hand.
the children and i have also noticed he makes a clicking noise is this normal?
please can someone tell me. is it ok to keep him? would he survive in the wild?, if we do keep him how do we look after him?
thankyou
