Thanks | Okay, leaving aside the fact that I still think this entire thread is a wind-up, it's because his/her logic has been seriously flawed from post number 1. As many have pointed out, whether we like it or not there are occasions when animals need to be killed and the more humanely that can be done the better. High quality telescopic sites make that easier to do and we should be grateful to Swarovski for providing them. The slaughter of lapwings in France had no ecological or environmental purpose but was done for greed and/or "sport" making it a very different kettle of fish.
The vast majority of posts, while disagreeing with Squeek, have done so with well-reasoned arguments and there has been very little "attacking" or "vitriol" as far as I can see. Of course Squeek (if s/he really exists) is entitled to express an opinion, and everybody else is entitled to express their agreement or disagreement with it provided they keep it civil.
My own view is that one of the most insulting things in this thread is the thread title as it strongly implies that anyone who disagrees with the original poster can't be an animal lover - and that's just silly. In my opinion!

| | | Re: Dont buy swarovski if you love animals I have just painstakingly read through these posts and think perhaps squeek made her point on the first post. Secondly others have made their point in contrast.
It is a very debatable post as many are, although I think there are always contradicting opinions on any subject, especially if it one's own passion.
I for one have no clear opinions on any of the posts on this thread as I do not know enough from a hunting perspective/ornaments.
I do however believe everyone has a right to their own opinion and that they should be respected. Debate yes, but nicely.

But all the people who disagree with you are entitled to their opinion too. Quote:
